Description

We are seeking a customer-focused individual to join our IT team as a Helpdesk & Gameday Specialist. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their technical skills in a fast-paced sports environment. You will provide daily technology support for staff and assist with IT operations during home games and events.

In this role you will:

Helpdesk Support

  • Collaborate with IT Staff to resolve technical support tickets
  • Respond in a timely manner to helpdesk tickets, phone calls, and in-person support requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on PCs, Macs, printers, copiers, mobile devices, and other shared office equipment
  • Assist users with common applications including Microsoft 365, Box, RingCentral, Duo, and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Set up computers, monitors, and peripherals according to company standards
  • Configure and troubleshoot basic network issues, including Wi-Fi connections and local area network (LAN) access
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory and coordinate proper disposal or recycling of outdated equipment
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT staff while maintaining ownership of end-user communication
  • Help create and maintain IT documentation, FAQs, and user guides
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Gameday and Event Support

  • Set up and test IT systems before games and special events
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure systems run smoothly on gameday
  • Monitor helpdesk channels during events and respond quickly to technical issues
  • Assist with check-in, return, and inventory tracking of NBA IT equipment
  • Document gameday procedures and help with post-event wrap-up
  • Communicate technical issues clearly and calmly, even in high-pressure situations

What you will bring to the role:

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent hands-on IT experience
  • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Basic understanding of networking, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and switches
  • Exposure to iPhone, iPad, and Android device setup and support
  • Interest in audio/visual (A/V) technology and conference room systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting technology and providing customer service
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist users of all technical levels
  • Ability to stay calm, professional, and effective under pressure
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the IT team

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, hourly role reporting to the Manager, IT Systems & Security. The primary work location will be the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with occasional short notice support during games and events. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for occasional local travel. Physical demands include the ability to climb ladders and lift items up to 50 pounds.
