P&C / BROKERAGE SALES INTERNSHIP

Interested in exploring a career path in the insurance industry? Farmers Mutual Hail (located in West Des Moines) is currently looking for P&C / Brokerage Sales interns for our 2026 Summer Internship Program.  This is a paid internship starting Monday, May 18 through Friday, August 7, working up to 40 hours per week for the summer. We are looking for a currently-enrolled college student who is close to the West Des Moines area to work in our Home Office, as this is not a remote internship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

• Shadows ABS and PIA staff to learn about products and services offered.
• Gains exposure to the companies’ wholesale and retail computer systems.
• Assists with and executes special projects.
• Prepares for and completes Property & Casualty License exam.
• Accomplishes other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

• Currently enrolled at an undergraduate college or university, (Juniors and Seniors may get preference), majoring in Risk Management and Insurance, Agricultural Business, Business Administration or related field. (May 2025 graduates will not be eligible.)
• Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
