Matthews Environmental Solutions (MES) is a global leader in combustion technology, including waste incineration, human and animal cremation and emission abatement systems. We are a part of the Matthews International Family of Companies (MATW), established in 1850.

We are looking for a Sales Representative to build relationships with existing customers, maximize profitability, identify and develop new leads, educate prospects and attract new long-term accounts in assigned territory. Sales will be to funeral-related businesses, veterinary hospitals, humane societies, medical schools, etc. by assessing their current or future needs and recommending the appropriate combustion equipment systems, services, parts and accessories.

Our position is full-time, located in our Apopka, FL headquarters office with a base salary of $58k, first year OTE of $80 - $90k. Reports directly to the Director of Sales.

What Success Looks Like

  • Manages existing customer base in sales territory via phone, virtual meetings, email and Salesforce.com CRM tool.
  • Provides quotes to customers for products/services and inputs orders into SAP software.
  • Makes regularly scheduled sales calls in assigned territory to existing accounts as required.
  • Identifies and capitalizes on growth opportunities in existing accounts.
  • Identifies new target accounts and executes plans to convert into customers.
  • Coordinates with adjacent departments to resolve customer problems, disputes, or any issues of significant concern in a timely manner.
  • Strives to exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Participates in key account visits, regional and national tradeshows as required.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ years of previous sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • SAP and Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally will be required
  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
