Wisk’s internship experience is a 12 week, hands-on program. Our goal for our internship program is to see what it’s like to be a full time Wisk employee and complete meaningful work.

We are looking for a Avionics Software Engineer Intern to join our team for summer 2026. The goal of a Avionics Software Engineer Intern at Wisk is to contribute to the design, integration, and testing of embedded software being executed on the aircraft. You will be part of the Vehicle Management System (VMS) Software Engineering team that develops the "brain" of the aircraft using safety-critical software development practices and design standards. By the end of your internship you will have experienced the full development lifecycle of airborne software and will have directly contributed to the long term development of our autonomous aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Avionics Engineering organization, you will act as a Avionics Software Engineer Intern for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market

  • You will take part in the software development lifecycle to design, integrate, and test improvements to our Vehicle Management System.

  • You will help support problem solving activities by learning about safety-critical software development per industry standard guidelines ARP-4754, RTCA DO-178C, and DO-331.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters or PhD degree in a technical/engineering field.

  • Basic software skills, technical curiosity, dedication, and proactiveness are good attributes for success in this role.
