Job Description

Music Services is hiring a Licensing Clearance Intern to join our team in Nashville. As an intern at Music Services, you will focus on joining forces with our License Clearance team to obtain mechanical-DPD and new digital media licenses on behalf of our many record label clients.   


 What You Will Be Doing:

  • Logging whitesheet information into a company tracking sheet for each label client including song titles, publishers, and publisher administrators.
  • Using online licensing portals for licensing mechanicals and DPD’s at major pub administrators like Harry Fox, BMG, Capitol CMG Publishing, Essential Music Publishing (Sony/Provident Music Group) and Integratedrights.com.
  • Confirming with publisher administrators their administrative share of songs by researching their sites and the PRO sites – ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.
  • Contacting major publishers like BMG, Sony, Warner Chappell and Universal directly for sync/digital video licensing.
  • Using Music Services proprietary software database to obtain information on songs and publishers and emailing updated publisher information to Music Services team
  • Corresponding with independent songwriters to obtain licensing.
  • Updating project whitesheets to reflect licensing requested and obtained. 
  • Updating project folders with licenses.
  • Assisting label administration and publishing administration team with royalty payouts as needed.
