Position Description:

The Engineering departments at site provide support for operating departments. The role will be a cross functional training role across the site to introduce the intern to the entire business at Florida Canyon. It may include working for other departments on short-term projects and day-to-day activities. The focus will be working with the Technical Services group and the planning and execution of achieving short-term and long-term targets.

Responsibilities:

Our interns will have an opportunity to complete challenging and gratifying projects in their field of study, working side by side with mine site professionals in the field. 

Engineering Intern: Work with survey group to learn the property geographically, do ore staking and blasthole layout along with project work. Work with short range planning to develop daily, weekly and monthly mine plans. Work with long range planning to learn the basics of yearly and life of mine plans. Develop maps for both short- and long-range planning. Spend time with Mine Operations and Maintenance to learn the basics of production operations and how maintenance plays a vital role in operations success.

Qualifications:

•    Must be able to complete an internship lasting a minimum of ten (10) weeks between May 1 and September 1, 2026.

•    Must be enrolled in school for the Fall 2026 semester (proof of enrollment required).

•    Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (transcripts required).

•    Must be able to pass Florida Canyon Mining’s pre-employment physical, which includes drug and alcohol testing as well as metals testing (where applicable).
