Description

Summary of Job

The Engineering Intern will assist in continuous improvement initiatives with a primary focus on optimizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials. This role serves as a transitional phase from project engineering to training, ensuring that SOPs, knowledge, and training materials are created and updated in a timely manner. The intern will work closely with project engineers and the training department to document processes and develop effective training programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and optimization of SOPs and training materials.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to document processes and procedures.
  • Ensure training materials are up-to-date and reflect current best practices.
  • Work with the Continuous Improvement Manager to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Support the creation and implementation of training programs for new and existing employees.
  • Maintain training records and ensure they are audit ready.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Provide support in the development of new technologies and tools for training.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eager to learn and apply new concepts.

Physical Requirements

  • Flexibility to work hours outside normal business hours.
