A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, but a high school diploma is required. The ideal candidate should have experience in bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, and reconciling accounts, with ADP Workforce and QuickBooks knowledge considered a plus.

Job Description

Title: Payroll & Accounting Specialist
Established in 1986, ASR solves mission critical challenges for clients in Government and Commercial sectors with our unique blend of proven experience, Global Touch Point capability, and cost-saving innovations in People, Processes, and Systems. ASR International Corporation (ASR) is looking to add an Accounting Specialist at our Corporate Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Work closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
• Prepare and submit invoices to clients ensuring they are entered into the proper accounts in the accounting system; check invoices ensuring bills are paid in a timely manner.
• Assist in collecting employee timesheets and entering them into the payroll accounting system
• Prepare payroll and sending information to an outside payroll processing service.
• Prepare detailed journal entries and month-end reconciliation.
• Account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of transactions.
• Reconcile payroll taxes, 401k, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, preferred. High School diploma required.
• Position is entry level, however the ideal candidate should have an understanding of basic accounting principles.  
• ADP Workforce is a nice to have skill.  
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks, and other applications (nice to have) 
• Working understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
