Job Description
Job Summary:
Manual Sorters are responsible for sorting of returned pallets. The sorter must learn and memorize the PECO pallet specification and ensure that all pallets leaving his area designated as RFU (ready for use) meet the PECO quality specification. Pallets that do not meet the specification must be placed in WIP (work in progress).
Essential Duties:
- Sort pallets by lifting them on edge with co-workers and inspecting them from top, bottom, and each side; placing pallets in RFU or WIP piles.
- Memorize pallet specifications and ensure all pallets processed meet that specification.
- Clean or report any contamination or potential food safety issues.
- Clean work area at end of shift to maintain a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Learn, understand, and adhere to all PECO safety policies and procedures for the depot as well as for your role.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Ability to memorize and apply PECO pallet specification to pallets.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary
- Strong work ethic
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move 65lb pallets repeatedly
- Standing for long periods
- Full range of motion required for reaching, bending, and lifting.
