LOCATION/DIVISION SPECIFIC INFORMATION Located in the vibrant city of Carlsbad, California, you will join a world-class team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., known for its innovation and dedication to excellence. INTERNSHIP POSITION We are excited to offer a master's project opportunity for a student specializing in cell biology. This project will focus on investigating and developing new reagents for flow cytometry. SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES - Stain cells and run flow cytometry experiments and apply your knowledge in the laboratory - Design experiments and conduct basic troubleshooting using relevant scientific literature. - Maintain mammalian cell culture, working with both primary cells and cell lines, including the preparation of human and mouse primary immune cells. - Compare the performance of different products. - Provide comprehensive documentation and analysis of the findings. As a master's student, you will actively participate in collaborative meetings, present your findings, and contribute to the academic and practical advancements in flow cytometry. QUALIFICATIONS We encourage candidates with the following qualifications to apply: - Currently enrolled in a masters program in biology, immunology, or a related field. - Experience in flow cytometry, lab-based skills, and data analysis. - A quick learner with a willingness to explore and learn topics outside their comfort zone and a great teammate. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES - Strong analytical skills - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment - Excellent problem-solving abilities PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT This role requires spending time in a laboratory setting, strictly adhering to safety protocols. BENEFITS We offer internship remuneration based on level and type of the assignment.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $22.50–$38.50.
