Job Description

Description

Performs a variety of duties which will include reviewing and creating packing instructions, both written and visual, pulling packing materials, and packing parts in accordance with customer specification.  Serves as the back-up driver using company van or box truck to move material and parts to other facility, customer or vendor locations. Create and distribute shipping manifest for products that are being delivered.   Work independently or with minimal direction from Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work from and follow travelers, shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, customer orders, designated lists, packing slips, written/visual instruction, and verbal instructions to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Oversee/perform outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Provide visual inspection and accurate counts on product packed.
  • Coordinate with customer service regarding updates, cancellations, and changes.           
  • Deliver parts to multiple locations, operate company vehicle in appropriate fashion and in compliance with company policies.
  • Develop and maintain manifest and return signed proof of delivery.  
  • Abide by Customer/Vendor shipping dock protocol.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, DOT physical, and a clean driving record, and must be at least 24 years old.
  • Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Requires the use of acquired knowledge, high school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to perform the duties of the job applying basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers.
