MNS Engineers, Inc. (MNS) is a fast growing, profitable, multi-service infrastructure consulting firm offering planning, construction management, civil engineering, and surveying services throughout California. With nine (9) offices throughout California, the Company has provided services to the transportation, water resources, government services, and federal markets for nearly 60 years. 

MNS is hiring a Planning Intern to join our Planning Department in 2026. The internship will focus on a wide range of tasks including Environmental Compliance, Community Planning, Current Planning and Regulatory Permitting. This position is a hybrid position, reporting to one of our MNS Offices 2+ days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collection, management, and analysis of data for a range of planning projects, including both current and long-range planning projects.
  • Research applicable regulations including but not limited to General Plan, Specific Plan, Zoning Code, statutes, and other relevant material. Prepare research documentation.
  • Conduct field work and field data collection.
  • Prepare maps and graphics for a range of planning documents.
  • Assist with the development of presentations and other materials for community meetings and public-facing presentations.
  • Attend public meetings and workshops to assist the team with community outreach activities.
  • Attend internal project and client meetings; prepare agendas and meeting minutes.

  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
  • Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver’s record are required.
