Pay Rate: $25 - $28 /hour

Civil Engineer Intern Co-Op

Delve Underground is seeking a Staff Engineer Intern for spring or summer 2026 to support the delivery of tunnels and underground facilities for water, wastewater, and transit infrastructure projects. This position offers a great opportunity for a motivated, detail oriented, team-centric candidate to work on challenging underground engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of structural design calculations for tunnels, shafts, foundations, temporary excavation support systems, and other types of underground structures
• Assist with the development of contract drawings and specifications
• Assist with technical memoranda and other documents supporting the technical basis of designs
• Assist with civil, geotechnical, and hydraulics engineers in solving highly multi-disciplinary design problems
• Assist coordination with the AutoCAD technicians and other members of the drawing production team for the development of plans, sections, and details
• Communicate effectively with other designer and construction management staff
• Work on a variety of office and field assignments

Qualifications:

• Must be a currently enrolled college student working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or similar program
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D programs
• Candidates should be able to multi-task and prioritize work, have strong communication skills and be able to work in a team environment
• Strong analytical and technical communication skills
