Crop Insurance Internship – East Lansing, MI

This is a paid Internship with an hourly rate of $19.50/hr

Duration: May 2026 – August 2026
Location: Based in our East Lansing, MI office, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the local community while being an integral part of our organization.

Key Responsibilities of a Crop Insurance Intern:

  • Acreage Report Review: Review insured's acreage reports, verifying information obtained from the insured or the Farm Service Agency (FSA).
  • Data Processing: Process, input, and upload the updated acreage report into the insurance provider's system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Document Management: Manage internal document storage and recordkeeping using tools such as Journey+ and OnBase, maintaining organized and easily accessible records.
  • Production Reports: Download, print, and mail fall production reports and applications to insured parties, facilitating the insurance application process.

Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or business.
  • Sophomore status or above in your academic program.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.
  • Strong interest in or prior experience working in the agricultural sector.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
