Position Summary:
This sales associate position is responsible for maintaining helpful customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently and performing cash register operations. The sales associate position is responsible for the operations of our store and plays a key role in providing Amazing customer service by engaging the customer and determining their needs and project requirements.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to combine amazing customer service with strong sales skills;
- Perform all tasks in the store including such activities as cashiering, product placement, receiving of merchandise, processing shipments and/or store stocking, store cleanliness, sales, and operating equipment;
- Work with management team to achieve established sales and productivity goals;
- Assisting in maintaining the good working condition of store equipment;
- Work with management to develop and execute ideas and activities to increase store traffic;
- Ensure that end-caps, dump bins and feature displays are properly merchandised and maintained;
- Ensure each customer receives amazing service which follows the Helpful Customer Service behaviors and mystery shop standards
- Greet customers as they enter the store
- Answer phone calls
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
- Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and maintain all cash at registers
- Maintain orderly appearance of register area and supplies stocked
- Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card
- Issuing receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
- Attend mandatory monthly store meetings
Other responsibilities as assigned by store management.

Rocky's Ace Hardware
Rocky’s Ace Hardware is a family-owned business that has been supporting local communities for over 95 years. Rocky’s was founded in 1926 by Rocco (Rocky) J. Falcone. Back then, Rocky’s was a mom-and-pop business and had just one location — in downtown Springfield, Massachusetts, on the corner of Main and Union streets. In 1966, Rocco’s son James began to run the business. During the 1970s and 1980s, James developed the single store operation into a successful seven-store chain. It was then that Rocky’s started its national affiliation with the Ace Hardware Co-op. Today, Rocco J. Falcone II, James’ son, is the third generation of his family to serve as president. Under the Falcone family's leadership, Rocky’s Ace Hardware has continued to evolve, responding to customer demand by expanding its hardware product lines, increasing stock selection and adding a variety of new services. From one modest store to now 50 convenient locations throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio and Florida, Rocky′s has become one of the country’s largest Ace dealers, noted for its focus on customer service and quality product selection. This focus on our customers means that Rocky′s stores have retained their friendly, neighborhood hardware store identity.
