KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools  is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2025-26 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating 3,000+ students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in the North and Westsides of Jacksonville, Florida:

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm 

  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

Ideally, somebody would start in this position as soon as possible. This position will be located at KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy at 2525 W 1st St.  


KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a Front Office Coordinator. The Front Office Coordinator supports the operational and academic success of a school by maintaining operational systems and creating a welcoming front office environment for KIPP families and community members.

The Front Office Coordinator is part of the school-based operations team and is a year-round employee. This is an hourly position and typical hours range from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES
General Office Duties

  • Maintain a neat, organized, clean, professional, and welcoming environment for visitors
  • Carry out general administrative duties; answer phones, update transportation changes, check in tardy students, assist parents with early check-outs, and greet and sign in all visitors
  • Make photocopies, assist with faxes, and assist parents/guardians when they visit the school

Attendance

  • Accurately manage daily attendance, updating systems with tardy and early check-out information and excuse notes
  • Make personalized calls to families when students are absent and updating student systems with information

Student Records

  • Secure and maintain well-organized and up-to-date student folders; including contacting other schools for student records, and fulfilling requests from other schools
  • All paperwork (i.e. excuse notes, report cards) filed in student folders

 Enrollment

  • Assist Operations leader(s) with new student enrollment and registration
    Assist Student Information Systems  Manager with updating all systems for new student enrollment

Medication

  • Provide students with medication and maintain logs
  • Administer First Aid/CPR as needed (current certification not required, KIPP Jacksonville can provide the training)

Other

  • This position may perform other duties as assigned by their manager or the operations team

The hourly rate for a Front Office Coordinator is $14.50/hour.

  • High School Diploma
  • Exceptional organization skills with a knack for details
  • Ability to multi-task with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of customer service to all stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Grace under fire professionalism
  • MS Office basic skills to include Outlook email and calendar, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Passing a background check, as required by law

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a school setting
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in a front office position (secretary, office coordinator, etc.)
